Moving Forward into Spring

Hey ladies, just received a shipment of goodies and its all those great t-shirts that I fell in luv with out of L.A. The company is Imaginary People and one of the styles you may have seen on the fabulous Beyonce in V Magazine, its the (Hello lover) tee from the Sex in the City movie and it will be up on Trunckshow.com in about 5 days. We also received the (Hello Kitty Rockaholic) tee worn by "Gossip Girl" Leighton Meister on the May cover of Seventeen Magazine, that will also be available in 5 days, Happy Shopping.

Learning Lesson

OK this is definitely my learning lesson #1
When I started this blog it was in conjunction with the online boutique that I started and the boutique I started was to sell women clothing, so, I went to the Project show and the Coterie show last season and ordered "clothing" for my online boutique, and now that the season is here for the "clothing" to be delivered I'm excited :-) Well to my surprise 6 of the items that were to be delivered from two different companies have not arrived, so I call the companies all cheery and expectant that they Will say " Oh Shelli your items should arrive any day now" NOT THE CASE........I'm told that the items I ordered were never produced, Now when the first company relayed that message after 3 phone calls I thought they just lacked some customer service, why wouldn't you notify someone that the items they ordered would not be produced? and then I contacted the second company and was told the same thing......OK me being someone who has pledged to be customer friendly, am bewildered! but this is also my first time ordering, so its "A LESSON LEARNED"....and going forward I will contact the companies a month before delivery just to confirm "delivery"...........OK I'M OVER IT.....gotta make calls ;-)

Coterie

I know that the last time I blogged I was on my way to the Coterie, well I went to the Coterie and it was, as always, way too much ......and way to little time, so I was only able to grab up business cards for all the goodies that had showrooms in NY, even though quite a few are based in L.A. So for spring ladies you can look forward to a super cute navy blue silk jumper, when I say super cute I mean stilettos or gladiators cute. This jumper is from Collective Clothing out of L.A, I also ordered amazing T-shirts from Imaginary People out of L.A, These are so not your ordinary T-shirts, they should be arriving the week of the 23rd look for them to be on the site by April first.

Im in business now

I know its been a long time since I started this blog but I was having a hard time finding it on the web and until I made sure that people could find it I paused the entries, and if someone is reading this other than me then you can now find it. Anyhow its that time again for me to shop the trade shows and see what great items Im going to offer Trunckshow.com shoppers for fall, meanwhile im still waiting for the spring/summer items to arrive, it amazes me. Iam going to the Coterie on monday, look out for some pics.

Lets get it going

Today I'm trying to get it going, got calls to make, appointments to go to and just out working this trunckshow, I really need to find the niche that sets me apart from all others and I'm not talking on a personal level since GOD created us all unique and special, I'm talking on a business level, when i started i really thought that i would just use indie designers and i still want to but what I'm coming across is designers that are not putting that finishing touch on their garments, Now its one thing to sell your unfinished garments at a street fair for little or nothing, but its a whole new ball game when you want someone (me) to represent you, I'm about quality and a polished look garments that wont pucker and seams that wont rip, that way there is no problem...........I'm looking i know that they are out there Ive seen them when I wasn't looking and now that I am......................HELP

The beginning.....

So today I have decided to take the plunge into this world of blogging, I just launched my online boutique trunckshow.com, hence the name of this blog, I'm going to try and keep it all about the trials and tribulations of running an online boutique, I have been so into fashion my whole life and have tried various venues to vent all my creative energy and since I'm almost 35....I figured now was the time to channel my energy into a project that would allow me to share my love of fashion and one that I could be totally devoted to and master, I am scared, I am excited, I am as hopeful as a child on Christmas eve.....I want TRUNCKSHOW.COM to be a success..... this is a project close to my heart and I want to see great things come out of it, I want to start a scholarship fund for high school students studying fashion, and I want to host trunkshows for new designers looking for representation. This is the beginning.............of my journey.
