My Inspiration
This is a picture and article from http://www.thesartorialist.com/ and when I saw it I was inspired and decided to share it with my readers I hope that you guys get the message.
I don't usually shoot homeless people. I don't find it romantic or appealing like a lot of street photographers, and if you asked homeless people they are probably not to happy about their situation either. That's why I was surprised to be so drawn to taking a picture of this gentleman.
I was being interviewed for an article in British Vogue; and while we walked down Bowery back in April I barely stopped walking when I took the shot. Fiona Golfar, the writer, asked why I took the photo. At that moment I couldn't really explain - but I just had a feeling about the power and grace of how he was sitting there. It wasn't until later that night when I was working on the image that I realized why I had noticed this man.
Usually people in this man's position have given up hope. Maybe this gentleman has too, I don't know, but he hasn't given up his sense of self or his sense of expressing something about himself to the world. In my quick shot I had noticed his pale blue boots, what I hadn't noticed at first were the matching blue socks, blue trimmed gloves, and blue framed glasses. This shot isn't about fashion - but about someone who, while down on his luck, hasn't lost his need to communicate and express himself through style.
Looking at him dressed like this makes me feel that in some way he hasn't given in or given up.

What a day
Today I had an incredible day at the Coterie, but as always there was way to much to see and way to little time, however I did order some goodies from Collective Concepts as its now called ( it used to be Collective clothing) and some super goodies from Whenever Wherever. Now on the other hand my re-vamping isn't going to well or should I say it's not going at all...I sent all my changes to the webmaster and Im still waiting for the results and I understand that I'm just a small toad in his pond, but can I get some results please! it may be time to shop around again

VOGUE
I have Loved Vogue since the early 80's, so it was only right that I go see the story behind the story, that brought us the Devil wears Prada. (The September Issue)....Loved it! Anna Wintour is an amazing woman and Grace Coddington is a genius!!! I have been admiring Grace's work for years often trying to re-create those editorials within my wardrobe, the movie was everything and I recommend it to all in fashion, not saying that if you aren't in fashion you wont like it ,but if you are in fashion you appreciate it that much more.
Fashions night out
Fashions night out, what a night, I the salon at 10 with just a hour to drive to the meatpacking district, double park my car and indulge in what the fashion world had to offer. I stopped at Jeffery's just in time to see Anna Wintour saunter up the steps, I didn't go in, just stood star struck and then walked a few doors down only to catch my breath in front of Matthew Williamson, and Stella McCartney WOW.....there is a fox vest at (MW) with my name written all over it, unfortunately Seton Hall prep doesn't take I.O.U's. Lastly with minutes to spare I jump back in my car and head to Marc Jacobs determined to purchase at least one thing and that I did, this cute T for the new and quite fashionable magazine LOVE. The energy of the night was incredible I saw sooo many fashionistas and the love of fashion was in the air, incredible I Luv this industry.

Who are you?
Who are you? are you an individual or are you a follower? can you stand alone and make a statement? or do you need to surround yourself with people that speak for you? It is so much better to be yourself, since everyone else is taken. ( I read that somewhere and just had to share it), but seriously being an individual with something to say is such an amazing feeling. Luv
